Lev Alexandrovich Yutkin

Lev Aleksandrovich Yutkin was a Soviet physicist, the inventor of a method of transforming electrical energy into mechanical energy, which he called the electrohydraulic effect (EHE). He was born on August 5, 1911 in the town of Belozersk, Vologda Oblast. In 1936 he graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute. After graduation, he worked at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, where he discovered the electrohydraulic effect in 1950.

Yutkin was engaged in research on the electrohydraulic effect throughout his life. He developed the theory of EHE, built the first electrohydraulic installations and patented a number of inventions in this field. His works had a great influence on the development of electrohydraulic power engineering and other fields of science and technology.

Yutkin also dealt with the application of electrohydraulic effect in agriculture. He developed a method for producing fertilizer from coal using EGE. This method consists of pulverizing coal and mixing it with water, then passing the mixture through an electrohydraulic unit. This process breaks down the coal into small particles that contain humic substances. Humic substances are natural biostimulants of plant growth, so they help to increase crop yields.

Yutkin has published a number of papers on the application of electrohydraulic effect in agriculture. He participated in international conferences and symposiums where he made presentations on his research.

Lev Alexandrovich Yutkin died on October 5, 1980 in Tbilisi.

Here are some details about the method of obtaining fertilizers from coal using EGE, developed by Yutkin:

  • Brown coal, which contains a large amount of humic substances, is used as the feedstock.
  • Coal is crushed to a particle size of 0.1-0.2 mm.
  • The resulting coal dust is mixed with water in a ratio of 1:10.
  • The mixture is passed through an electrohydraulic unit.
  • As a result of this process, coal disintegrates into small particles that contain humic substances.
Mechanism of transport of micronutrients

Humic substances obtained using this method have the following properties:

  • They have high bioavailability for plants.
  • They help improve the soil structure.
  • They increase the yield of agricultural crops.

The method of obtaining fertilizers from coal using EGE is ecologically clean and safe for the environment. It can be used to produce fertilizers both on an industrial scale and in small farms.

Here are some of the results of the research conducted by Yutkin and his colleagues:

  • The application of fertilizers obtained using the EGE method contributed to an increase in the yield of grain crops by 10-15%.
  • Fertilizers obtained using the EGE method improved the quality of agricultural crops, increasing their content of protein, starch and other useful substances.

The method of obtaining fertilizers from coal using EGE is a promising direction in agriculture. It can help increase the yield of agricultural crops and improve their quality!
